Case Study – Tapton Vale

Kitchen/Dining Room

When this property landed in our hands it was extremely dated but had been well looked after over the years. It needed, like most of them do, bringing into the modern world.

As you will see from the photographs the kitchen was tiny, it was not possible to install a functional modern kitchen along with essential appliances into it therefore the decision was made to knock through the kitchen not the dining room.

The wall was demolished and an RSJ was inserted. All work was done to building regulations. The finished result has created a beautiful kitchen living space which is much more suited to modern day family life. The kitchen has been run where the former kitchen and taken further into the former dining room where a breakfast bar separates the two spaces. The side door was bricked up and we removed the window in the dining room and replaced for french doors out onto the garden

Living Room

As you can see from the photo below the living room was dated, the chimney breast comes through the corner of the room. The room had a gas fire with surround on the chimney breast wall that took up a lot of space.

To make more space in the room and brighten the room we have decorated it neutrally and added a wall mounted electric fire which is a space saver as doesn’t require a hearth and surround

Bathroom

The bathroom as you can see from the pictures was a green bathroom which required upgrading to a neutral white suite and modern grey tiles to appeal to the rental market. We kept the layout the same which works well. Here are the transformation photos below
